Alright. I've read all the news on upcoming Intel CPUs and I must say, I am totally lost!
If someone could answer the following questions, it would be great!
1. When is Intel going to be coming out with a Nehalem based dual core CPU?
2. When is Intel going to be coming out with the CPU+GPU single chip design?
All this Capella/Arrandale nomenclature is confusing the heck out of me!It's like they are the same chip but yet different?! If someone could just shed some light on the future Intel CPUs it would be great!
Thank you!

I know in Quarter 4 intel is planning or releasing a I7 mobile quad core

i thought it was going to be I7 dual core they were releasing? (i know the desktop are quad but i read dual)

Oh maybe you are right... I had only heard "I7" so I assumed that it would be a quad... Why would they release a I7 dual? Hyperthreading or the virtual cores?

They should be releasing both.
Quads and the dual cores with the integrated graphics.
Really low clocks on the Quads, but amazingly low watt usage so its something to see.
(Still cant wait) -
The Core i5 (Lynnfield) is supposed to be released third quarter of 2009.
Clarksfield (the mobile CPU) is also to be released on the Capella platform.
The dual-core derivative (Havendale) has been cancelled.
Instead, Intel will go straight with the 32nm die shrink -Clarkdale/Arrandale - dual core with integrated graphics. It was pushed forward to release fourth quarter of 2009. -

oh then i guess i don't need to worry about me jumping the gun on the quad.

You guys will be blown away by the power of these CPU's, destroys the Q6600 I have downstairs, and that is a fast machine.
That in a mobile package will be truly something, keeping the heat down is going to be a major problem though, I sometimes tick 85-90c on my current OC, with the stock cooler of course. -

I think the initial Nehelam mobile Quads wont have to worry about heat that much. They are releasing a 2.0gHz quad that runs 35 watts. Thats amazing. Imagine what they can do with 44-45 watts (still less than the quads now available)

hmmm thats not bad if its true of course, possibly down to 32nm process by then? im thinking they will be very expensive then..

Yeah its like 1K for the 2.0 gHz quad. But as unimpressive as the clock speeds are the more i hear about them the more excited i am about the whole thing. 2.5+gHz would be great, but "supposedly" the 2.0gHz is the Xtreme version so it will support overclocking so maybe all will be well with the world
Upcoming CPUs....
