    Hey,

    I am looking to upgrade the Hard Drive in my notebook. I currently have a 200GB 7.2K, and I want to upgrade to a 500GB 5.4K. However, I want to know if there will be any new capacities available around the corner for notebooks.

    Seagate quietly released a 640GB 5400rpm drive a while ago - it's not available in large quantities yet, though.

    There is also a 750GB and 1TB drive that has been released, also not in large quantities though.

    Yes, but those Western Digitals are 12.7mm (three-platter) drives, and may not fit into the drive bays of most notebooks, which can only accomodate 9.5mm.

    The M570RU can only accept 9.5mm drives.
