Penryn = 45nm update of Merom (among other tweaks I'm sure) Q1 '08. Same socket as Santa Rosa Meroms (Socket P? 800FSB).
Montevina (sp?) Q2 '08 = Next Intel platform. Superseeds Santa Rosa. Penryn 45nm with Robson 2.0 among other things (I'd expect updated wireless, possible WiMax or whatever they're pushing, updated graphics etc.)
Possible Quad Core processors, but just what I recall from something somewhere.
Don't know whats up on the AMD side, suposedly a new architecture specifically designed for laptops, but don't know.

Thats it in a nut shell, all off the top of my head :)

The newer AMD thing is callled Fusion, the idea of a CPU & GPU combined for low end to moderate Notebook PC's. The CPU core is a highly optimized K8 CPU, it looks good for what it's designed, but hopefully it works good too.

Fusion is slated for a 2009-2010 release. The upcomin processor is a K8-based one (like Athlon X2) but with lower power usage. It will, however be somewhat updated with newer Phenom technology, like HT3 and a memory controller reminiscent of phenom.

Puma will be the name of the platform, with Hyper Transport 3 (obviously), PCI Express 2.0 (faster link speeds/higher bandwidth) and AMD's answer to Intel's Turbo Memory, Hyper Flash. The integrated graphics will be RS780, which is based upon R600 arechitecture. They have not released any info yet. Puma also has a feature called PowerXPress, which allows optional discrete graphics (in addtion to integrated). While this approach exists already on Intel, this will be (according to AMD) a seemless switchover without the need for reboot. It uses the same socket as present Turion X2 (S1), but with different pinouts.
