Yeah, I was reading this too.

Hope to be able to pit this (512GB version) against my Intel 510 250GB model soon.

As much as I hated the performance of Samsung SSD's before the 470's, I do have to say they were/are reliable. :)

Now, with performance to go with that reliability, Intel (and the rest of the grown up SSD industry (SF, go back to your mommy...) may finally have the competition it needs to start the price wars we deserve (after a much too long wait...).

    Samsung, bring it on! :)

I would be suprised if the 256GB version is more than $519.00. I believe that was the highest retail price I saw for the 470. I predict the 512 will fall in at $650.00 to $799.00. Pretty large window for sure. LOL

You bring up a good point Tiller. This might just actually start some price wars. Although the chips are still pretty expensive to produce, you know Intel is watching this very close. They have to know there is a drive out there that is in the same league they are in.

Was hoping for more actual info.. like rated specs, IOPS, price, etc. But I guess a tiny bit of news is better than no news.

October! I guess I will hold off on the M4 then, this Samsung drive looks like it could very well be a 7mm drive by that picture. Thanks for the link.
