    i am using HP dv 6560. Can i upgrade my existing 2GB Corsair 667 MHz Ram module to 800 MHz.

    I'm getting a bit tired of these 800 MHz threads. Everyday same question x_x;

    You can, but it will be downclocked to 667 MHz [making it a useless upgrade, so to speak]. Santa Rosa does not support 800 MHz RAM.

    Yep this is a common misconception. As scythie said Santa Rosa does not support 800 MHz Ram so it will just down clock it to 667MHz anyways.

    How do you mean? I have a TurionX2 1600Mhz FSB (HyperTransport) with a 800Mhz memory bus. Nothing special about my cheap notebook.
