Hello Team Notebook Review,
I have a notebookHP Pavilion DV7 with 3 years of use. I'm wanting to do an up-grad CPU Intel Core2 Quad Q9000 - 2GHz, 6MB cache and 1066 MHz front-side bus (FSB) swapping by Intel Core2 Quad Extreme QX9300 - 2.53GHz, 12MB cache and 1066 MHz front-side bus (FSB).
The manual says it supports up notebook with Intel ® Core 2 Quad Q9100 2.26GHz with 12MB of L2 cache and 1066 MHz front-side bus (FSB)
I plan to buy this processor on ebay because it uses the same socket of my "EMP 478" has the same FSB "1066" and has the best clock 2.53 GHz and "12MB cache."
I think that HP has not informed the compatibility with the Xtreme model because commercial marketing. I think with this processor choose another HP notebook more TOP for the occasion. Despite my motherboard accept the processor with 12MB cache and 1066 MHz FBS.
About the cooling system:
I think I can relieve. I created a Water Cooler system on my notebook. Welded with copper plate in the sink and video card processor that I created.
And I have the kit for cooling: water pump, radiator and fluid
