    Hello people.

    I have a Toshiba Qosmio G35-av600 with a t2400 dual core processor.

Is it worth it to upgrade to a t2700, i found one on ebay for 169.99.

Also i want to know if i can upgrade my video card wich is a Nvidia GeForce Go 7300 256mb Vram.

    Thanks.

If you're going to upgrade your processor, go for a Socket M Core 2 Duo. You'll get better value versus an upgraded Core Duo processor. As for your GPU, I'm afraid what you have is what you're stuck with, as it's not upgadeable.

Ok so i found a t7400 for around 200$ so now what you say? is it worth it?
i want to upgrade specially because i'm not going to get a new pc for like a year or so. Also i have 2.5gb of ram, i heard that 4gb is just not worth it or should i upgrade, i can find the extra 2gb for around 20$.

    Thank you for your help.

Where did you find a T7400 for $200?

Do not even bother upgrading your memory if you already have 2.5Gb of memory.
You can upgrade for $20, but if you have a 32bit operating system it will only ecognize around 3.0-3.6Gb of memory. This would not be much of an upgrade in the memory department, and its up to you if its worth $20.

You cannot upgrade the video card in your system.

What harddrive do you have? you may be better off buying a faster harddrive if your system has a slow 4200 or old 5400rpm drive in it.

I do not know if you can upgrade your t1350 core solo to a core duo t2400.
You will be able to upgrade the t2400 to a t7400.

SInce you are upgrading 2 computers with $200, I would say its worth it,
but I would wait to here if you can even put the t2400 in the machine you have the t1350 in.

Any computer with a t7400 will have a good resale value in two years, so you will be able to get quite a bit for that laptop. That is if youre going to sell it and buy a new computer in two years.

    Hi!

I am also looking at the T7400 as well because the T7600 is a little expensive at the mo - at least on ebay.

K-TRON - you mention a drive upgrade. I've got a 120gig 5400rpm which came standard - what upgrade options would you suggest.

The plan is to put off buying a new machine for a year at least so a chip upgrade would be what I am looking at. I had also looked up some SSD but they are a bit pricey too????

    Ta!

    Kanedmick,
well I dont know what kind of laptop you have.
Their are two interfaces, ATA and SATA.
Since you have a socket M core based processor, I am assuming that your system has a serial ATA harddrive (SATA)
On average, a 120Gb 5400rpm sata notebook harddrive has a 31.8mb/sec average read speed.
If you wanted, you could upgrade to a 250Gb 5400rpm drive, which will give you a 47mb/sec average read speed,
or you could upgrade to the fastest laptop harddrive, the Samsung/WD 320gb 5400rpm drive, which is able to do 52.7mb/sec average read speeds.

This chart summarizes the speeds of common SATA laptop harddrives.

    I hope this helps
