    Hello,

because of the small resolution of my actual notebook (HP Pavilion dv6-6108sg) display (15,6", 1366x768), I want to upgrade this with a Full HD display.
The last days I read a guide in this forum ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-...-hp-pavilion-dv6-6xxx-screen-replacement.html) how to replace the screen but I have a few questions about the components I have to use:
    - Are there any requirements my notebook must have?
    - I read that I need a new cable for the 1080p screen. Where are the differences between my actual cable?
    - In the forums there are two prefered displays: The AUO B156HW01 v.4 and the LG LP156WF1. I looked a bit in the Internet and found out that there are several types of the AUO B156HW01. Where are the differences? Is the AUO still the best choose for the replacement or are there better displays at the moment I should have a look at?
    - The AUO and the LG are both TN panels as far as I know. Is it also possible and useful to integrate an IPS-Panel? If yes, are there any tips which display I should choose?
    - Is it also possible to replace the screen with one of another brand? I only read about displays of LG and AUO. Is there a problem with other brands like one of samsung?

Thanks in advance for every reply!

Sorry, I'm not as educated with HP part upgrades. Regarding the IPS panel - if you're currently using a TN panel, then the inverter will not power a IPS backlight, as they require more power; you would need to find a compatible inverter. Sometimes you can get away with swapping another brand's screen in the laptop, but the dimensions and screw placement need to be taken into account.

I can't recall what video cable is used for 1080p, if it's different than the 720p video cable.

If nobody else gets back to you hear, you can refer to the HP forums for more help.

There are minimum 2 topic discussing this, pointless making another one. Check the HP section.
