Hi
Is this easy to do?
I just bought this notebook and the screen is crap. Too late to send it back.
I was going to order from here...
Screen for HP Compaq ELITEBOOK 840 G1 (F2Q28UT). Replacement Laptop LCD Screens
Thanks all

I'm guessing here, but most of the 1600x900 are LVDS, and they are already 2ch LVDS, which is needed for higher resolution displays. It would be better if you download HWinfo and post the display's model here, so I'll know for sure what kind of panel it is, and what kind of panel would fit for you.

Sorry, no useable information. It seems that I was wrong in my assumption about the 1600x900 displays, there are eDP as well. A search around panelook, about 14.0" FullHD panels, tells me that there are different connector positions and different panel types and just a single one that is LVDS. I guess it's safer to just buy from the link above and they claim to have IPS, which is more than a welcome upgrade. As for how easy it is - judge for yourself
Good luck!
Upgrade HP Elitebook 840G1 display from 1600X900 to 1920X1080IPS??
