Since wireless cards look to be pretty cheap I figured I may as well upgrade the wifi in my aging MSI 1013. How could I tell what devices are compatible, since it appears that MSI no longer has the 1013 listed in its website? =( Or should any card work, theoretically, so long as it fits? I've got an AMD ML-30 CPU and a Radeon Xpress 200 IGP if that helps at all.

I believe any card should work as long as it fits and you have the antennas. I think you will need a miniPCI card.

If you open up your laptop to access the wireless card, you should be able see them. There is probably 2 of them.

I should have been more clear, what do antennae look like? I seem to recall a couple little wires that plugged into the card the last time I was inside my laptop, are those what I'm looking for? And supposing I just order a Intel 5300, would there be any detriment resulting from the fact that it's designed for 3 antennae?

That card is miniPCIe. I believe you need a miniPCI wireless card.

Ah, I see. What would be the best MiniPCI card I could use?

TP-Link TL-WN861N is one of Wireless N cards which in Mini PCI form factor. I just saw several eBay sellers have it on stock.
