    Hey all,
as you can see im a newbie to the forum but thought it was a great site for all the notebook info! I've always had PCs and always done my own upgrading on them, but i have recently bought a Acer Aspire 3503WLCi, and wanted to beef up its ram, its on 256mb at the moment(minus the video cards allocation), and wanted at least 1 gig of ram. i did a bit of research yet found two stories, the acer website said i could go to 2 gig if i wanted but another site said that 1 gig is my maxium?!?!?
But anyway i wanted to know is there a certain kind of ram that i need, and what is it? and since i do my own upgrades on my pc how hard is it to do on laptops? is there any "how to" links with step by step instructions (when i did my searching i found one for "gateway laptops", and didnt know if it would be different for a acer) but thanks to anyone who can offer some advice its greatly appreciated :D

One option would be to buy the 1GB stick at somewhere it is easy to return and see if it works. If not, take it back. I think it uses PC2700 memory. As for installing it, there should be a panel on the bottom you pop off and stick the memory in the open slot. The memory is notched so it can only go one way. Check the literature you got with the machine, the procedure may be covered in there. Good Luck.

    Thanks for that zazonz :D
i have the case split open and the memory stick reads 256mb ddr 333 cl2.5
and it has one stick in at the moment but it has two slots (one onto of the other :S) the other question is since it have two slots can i go for the 2 gig??? (two 1 gig sticks???) or would i be better to stay with the one gig and get one stick or purchase 2 512mb sticks?

I'd try the 1GB stick first, you can always add more later. 333Mhz is PC2700.
