I have a y510p that came with a 1TB SSHD, but no 24GB cache. I'm wondering if it is possible to upgrade the M.2 SSD even though there supposedly isn't a port. I watched a video on YouTube where someone made an aftermarket connector and plugged in a SSD. Is this possible and has anyone done it?

One more question: once I install the SSD (if possible), how do I make it my C drive and copy my files to it?

After reading a couple times I thing I understood what you ment by cache, you mean a second m.2 SSD hard drive that you would like to add in. Can't help you on the connector but once plugged in, you will probably best reinstall windows to it. If you have windows 8,1, secure boot will make it absolute hell to transfer your exhisting OS files over.

Oh well, I opened up the laptop and found that the connector was missing. I'll just save up and buy a higher capacity SSD.
