An upgrade to a T9900 shouldn't be causing those issues, did you put it back together right? Perhaps you forgot to plug something in, OR if your processor was defective (highly unlikely).

The usb's are soldered to the board so no FPC to wory about, im thinking the processor is defective, is their a program to check for errors between my processor and motherboard.

    Thanks for your help :)

AFAIK this is not necessary, but did you do a clean install after upgrading your CPU?

Run Prime95/IBT for a few hours and see if you get errors/BSOD.

You don't need a clean install. instead go to the hardware properties window and delete CPU (i.e. select it and push the 'delete' key on the keyboard). After restarting the CPU will be detected properly.

I've upgraded a system recently from a Celeron to a Pentuim Dual core and the laptop was slow as Windows didn't install the drivers properly. Using the above procedure fixed it.

Anyway, the above won't fix your USB troubles though. Did you make any other changes while doing the upgrade? May be you swapped the RAM around? Also are you sure that the T9900 is supported by your laptop?

It is possible that it couldb be static electric damage to the motherboard seeing as the motherboad would have been exposed during the upgrade. Did you make you took all measures to avoid static when doing the upgrade.
