Yes, you should be able to. You'll have to checkout the BIOS Release History to verify compatibility.

You may want to be careful, if its a newer laptop with GL40 Motevina it only supports 667 FSB processors, meaning the T7600 would be the top processor it could use, at least thats what the specs say, i know past intel platforms have still supported higher FSB even when the data sheets say no, but I haven't found any evidence of someone testing this theory (aside from one guy who said a P8600 didn't work in his GL40).

A t7600 is socket M. If what he says is true about the 667mhz FSB then you are limited to T5x50 CPU's

I didn't read closely enough, he said it's a 965GM so my advice is out the window anyways...

Is this notebook Indonesian ? :p

I can't get much details on it.

If you know where to download the drivers and all, see if it shares its BIOS with a similar notebook which actually uses a T8xxx, T9xxx, etc. and also check the BIOS Release History for listed updates and check for added CPU support.

If the BIOS supports the new CPUs, then the first gen Penryns should work.
I think the Meroms (T5xxx, T7xxx) might work, even without a BIOS upgrade, since the core is the same, and micro-codes are generally the same as well.

So you can try out an upgrade, but make sure the CPU is refundable in case of an incompatibility.
