Hi,
I posted this in the Dell Forums too, but thought it might get a quicker response here.
I'm wondering if it's worth the money to upgrade from a T5550 to T7300. I"m having issues watching my recorded HD videos. I'd like to be able to edit/encode them as well.
My current specs are:
Dell XPS M1330
T5550
4GB RAM
Vista Ultimate
Geforce 8400
Thanks,
Peter

Personally, no. You might want to review how you record the videos and try using different media players (codecs) with them.

Depends on the price. I agree with what qhn said.
But if you want to upgrade you should get a penryn (T8100, T8300, T9300...).
They run a lot cooler and use less energy. -
T9300 would be really good if you could get it for less than $250.

lemme know if your gonna upgrade ill give ya 20 bucks for your old processor

I would get a T9300 too... best uprgade u can have... also way cooler than ur old memron....the extra speed and cache will help a lot in watching full HD videos... i have a T9400 which is the next generation T9300... just 1066MHz FSB ... same speed and cache and no problems watching HD videos...

you can get a t8300 for alot less money, 2.4 vs 2.5 isnt that much. but still t8300 or t9300 still run alot cooler then the t7300.

T9300 is still worth it... newer .. faster and cooler...
