Hi all, came across this newegg shell shocker. I have a SONY VAIO SR 290 with 320GB hard drive from factory. Any opinion on if it's worth to upgrade to this, like would I see any real world improvement? I don't store a lot of files on my hard drive, just OS and other applications.

Also What is this write delay or issue they are talking about.......apparently someone on amazon has this problem too, would this problem make it slower or still faster write speed than my 5400RPM HD? Thanks..

the write delay is due to the controller not able to handle all the small little writes that Windows is notorious for. You need to do partition alignment if running XP (Vista will create the partition properly but XP won't), and some other tweaks to disable the background writes.
