OK, I've searched and searched for an answer to this. If I've missed something, please accept my apologies.

Assuming I haven't been scammed, I will soon have a Clevo M570U with WSXGA+ (1680x1050). I'd like to upgrade the LCD to WUXGA (1900x1200).

Is this possible? ScreenTek says "no," but I'm not sure I trust their verdict. (see below for chat transcript).

Chris: Can you tell me what is wrong with your laptop screen?
you: Nothing, I'd like to upgrade from a WSXGA...
Chris: unfortunately that is not possible
    you: Why?
    you: Still there?

So do I need both screen and inverter? Are there any recommended vendors other than ScreenTek?

My guess is that it isn't going to be worth the cost or the time and trouble.

It can be done. However the screen is not that easy to remove on that model and you would have to make sure the LCD cables for both screens are the same. Otherwise the LCD cable would need to be changed too.

I cant see the point upgrading from an already adequate resolution even for a 17" screen.
Save your money and buy something else.
