So, i've got a XPS L502 with the 1366X768 display. How would I go about upgrading the display to the higher quality?

You would need to buy the 1080p B+RGLED panel (I believe AUO is the only one for XPS line) and you will need to buy the 1080p LVDS cable (720p LVDS cable will not work).

It might be hard to find the exact AUO B156HW01 V4/V7 B+RGLED 95% gamut panel (V4 = matte, V7 = glossy). Many resellers are shipping "compatible" screens that are of less quality, when you try to order one.

You'll probably either want to go with a legit AUO V4/V7 or just go with an LG LP156HW01. The B156HW01 V4/V7 have outstanding color saturation, but if you can't get the V4 or V7 of those then you may want to go with an LG panel which should generally have better contrast (from my experience). The B156HW01 V3 has gimped brightness, the V0/V1 are good I believe but I doubt they're better than an LG, and they're certainly not 95% gamut.
