Hey I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade a dual-core t2250 1.73GHz cpu to a core 2 duo in a hp dv6205us laptop. I know I can upgrade my pentium d cpu in my desktop pc to a core 2 duo cpu because the motherboard supports it, but I am unsure bout the motherboard in this laptop.

Unless you have a specific need, it's probably not worth the trouble. For things like Office or Internet the CPU is not the performance bottleneck.

Possibly my biggest gripe with HP notebooks is the pain in the arse that it is to get to the CPU.

It's pretty much that way with almost all notebooks, isn't it? They save money by combining CPU+GPU heatsinks, which kinda makes it hard to get at everything under there. Lots of little screws.
Upgrade dual-core cpu to core 2 duo possible?
