I think it uses PCI-Express so does this mean it's upgradable? if so would i need to buy a mobile gpu? or can i put a desktop gpu in it?

is much of a performance difference between the GEForce go 6600 128mb and the 128MB ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M Graphics? also since the 200m is shared with the system memory could i allocate more system ram and turn it into a 256mb? or even a 512mb?

Yes, there is much difference. Even if you could allocate 1024MB to the Xpress 200M, it wouldn't help, because the GPU is not powerful enough to handle any game that could benefit from so much RAM.
