So my matcrapa dvd burner no longer burns in my lappy. My question is, since there are blueray drives out now or will soon be out, is it worthwhile to upgrade? I mean, will the image quality be that much better on my 1680X1050 screen? I'm not too interested in the increased capacity for burning materials as of yet.

DVD quality for movies is still fine, especially if you are watching them on your laptop screen. I have a blu-ray drive, and the image looks no different than a dvd quality movie on my laptop screen.
If you were playing the movie on a high end external screen, you may see some difference, but I dont think that small difference is worth the extra money.
