Background: I bought a HP Probook 6450b because it's a good quality notebook and it had integrated WWAN. However the display was cracked and instead of just replacing it I decided to upgrade it (from a 1366x768 to 1600x900). The display I bought was for a 6465b, however the discription said it would fit a 6450b.

Problem: After replacing the display all dark colors are red.

My question: Could this be caused by a defective LVDS cable or using a single channel LVDS cable instead of a double channel? Or what do you think the problem is?

You need lcd cable meant for fhd/hd+ displays, check the service manual for part number.
