So i opened up my M6 in hopes of adding an M.2 intel 540 only to discover the m.2 is nowhere to be found, Im realy hoping it isnt UNDER the motherbard. my plan was to add it in concert with the existing 1TB 5400rpm HDD and use the m.2 as boot. Anyone??????

actually i just figured out the M6 w105dx does not have the needed m.2 adaptor. so its upgrade entire drive to SSD or nothing, I had hope i could run them side by side like in my M7 N109dx. but Not so much. why does HP hate us???

Why don't you get a big SSD instead? You also could get a m.2 encasement in 2,5" Format.

Take a look at this vid. Looks like there is an M2 slot next to the HDD.

    Around the 3:20 mark:

BTW: Is this the adapter you are talking about? Looks like this M2 adapter is designed to fit in the standard SATA slot where the hard drive currently sits. If you have a spare M2 slot, no need for this.
