I came across a Quad Core CPU that I could put into my Laptop my current options are only a 2.8 Dual Core ( which really is pretty good, if it's my absolute only option) I found the QuadCore for my laptop, a few months later the CPU was no where to be found. I looked and looked and looked. Does anyone know where you can find a range of brand new Laptop CPU specifically Socket P in North America ?

I'd also like to point out someone else, watch out if you buy a laptop that mentions that the RAM can be upgraded to high amounts because my finding is that that it's extremely hard to find RAM SO-DIMMS in higher then 2 Gig Denominations specifically in North America, I think it is a conspiracy whether you believe it or not.

Make sure your laptop supports Quads also. Just because the socket is the same doesn't mean a quad will work.

Socket P is a little outdated but not by much comparing it with i3, i5. I wouldn't use that term as loose. Besides all those CPU on NewEgg I already know, there is no Quad on that list any more.

    I don't prefer to shop eBay. :)

Then be prepared to pay significantly more. I've bought several CPUs on eBay and never had a problem with any of them.

    I'll give eBay another try.
