Hi I'm planing on buying a Sager NP5791 when the new 8800 gpus comes out. And I was wondering how upgradeable it is.

Will new cpua coming out in the next 1-2 years, be compatible with the motherboard? Will the 9 series still use MXM IV?

I don't want to buy something at the end of its life cycle and be stuck with not being able to upgrade it down the line.

    Thank you.

Until it comes out, we don't know. Generally, notebooks are very very limited in upgradablility, so I really wouldn't count on it.

CPU-wise, maybe til next year at most, as it is currently at Socket P, and I doubt it will be still at that next year. GPU-wise, even if its MXM, it is still very limited, there are too many unknown variabilities to say for sure.

Yikes, thanks for the reply. As I don't NEED it now, I think I'll just wait a year or so and see what comes out.

    Thanks again for your reply.
