    i have an aspire 5583
    t5500 1.66 ghz
    2x512 mb 667mhz
    and nvidia geforce 7300 go
im planing to get a monitor and setup dual monitors
and will upgrading my ram improve performance for example
right now my system is using 500 mb of ram
if i had 4 gb of ram would my system perform better

and will the dual monitor reduce performance?

    thanks

If you're using only 500MB of the installed 1GB RAM, then upgrading the RAM won't improve performance. And the max RAM that system addresses is 3GB.

You could upgrade the HDD for better performance, and dual monitor will not reduce performance. I use it all the time. ;)

my graphics card is just a 7300 go since it has to draw moe pixels (2 monitors)
    will gaming performance be effected?
is dual monitors of different size's hard to use laptop-14 inch new monitor -probably 19 inch
and lastly will i get a good resolution on the new monitor or will i have to use the same 1280x800

most games will automatically want to run on one screen, so you will have to use the nVidia control panel to set the game to use both screens.
Gaming performance will decrease if you set the game to run one large image over both screens. This would require a higher resolution, thus lower game play.
The nVidia 7300 is a weak card to begin with, so the gaming drop may make your games unplayable.

If you haev Windows XP, and you never use more than 500mb of memory than i wouldnt advise upgrading to 4gb of memory.
If you have vista, that is another story. The upgrade to 4gb will help increase overall system performance.

i think spanning over 2 monitors will be a pain due to extremely different size's
and 500 mb was just an arbitrary value.. when im surfing the net without running games
