Hi there, I know that this question was asked long time ago in a previous thread.
But I just need to upgrade the CPU of my old laptop.
My laptop is set up this way:
I want to upgrade the T4300 model with a compattible one with 1066 FSB.
- CPU: Pentium Dual Core T4300 1M Cache 2.1 GHz 800MHz FSB; Socket P (478)
- RAM: 4GB (2x2) DDR2 PC6400 800MHz
- ATI Radeon HD 4570 with 512mb
- Chipset: Intel GM45/GM47
- Motherboard: Acer JV50_MV
According to you, my current configuration will support this kind of switch (800 FSB -> 1066 FSB) ?

Hi ole!!!, thanks for the reply. So when I was reading a similar (but old) thread, it seemed to me that some users have managed to change their old CPU with some more performing ones which have FSB at 1066 MHz.
In your opinion is there a way to understand if the northbridge of this chipset supports FSB at that speed ?
Or I just have to find out if there is a BIOS mod for this motherboard ? -
imo its just not worth the extra effort because they all end with dual cores.Starlight5 and v.per like this. -

@v.per you don't even need to update BIOS, T9900 and other 1066 FSB CPUs will just work.

Bios also need to update what I given the link above.
This modified BIOS reveals all the hidden features of this processor, and thus it is possible to further overclock up to 3.2 GHz -
. But how is possible to know if the northbridge of my laptop supports that frequency without reaching high temperatures of the CPU ? Is there a way or a manual that explains all this ?
