I'm going to buy an Acer Helios Predator and want to add a HDD since it comes with an SSD.
Two Options
Would this be a good drive if I bought one with the laptop?
1TB Drive

$56
Or this one for a bit more @ $87 for a 2 TB?

@Morpheus1 2TB 7mm drive is obviously a better choice, why waste money on really old (2 generations past) 1TB drive with much higher $/TB price that may not even fit inside your laptop due to 9.5mm height?

I would go with a Seagate firecuda. I have the 2TB version and it's awesome. The windows insider program screwed up my OS and I am back on my western Digital Hdd. ITS SO SLOW! The firecuda is about 90 percent as fast as my intel SSD in loading programs etc. Its much cheaper, has WAY more storage and its 7mm. Worth every penny.
I recommend them to people who don't need the all out speed of SSD when they want a lot of storage. The video comparisons on youtube are SPOT on. There are a few on there showing speed tests of a SSD, the SSHD and HDD. I did the same comparison and got very similar results. I swapped my HDD, SSD, and SSHD and timed them. The SSHD was only slightly slower than the SSD. So much so that you won't notice the difference using you computer. You can tell how slow the HDD is when using the computer because you are waiting ALOT. Not so with the SSHD. -

@kojack while SSHD is a very noticeable improvement over HDD as aystem drive, it's a waste of money to use it for data storage.

after I wrote, I understood what he was saying...I was thinking he had a small SSD, and wanted to replace it...not add on!
