I'd like to upgrade a couple of things on my Asus G50vt-X1 laptop, first and foremost the screen. In order of importance, I'd like a 15.6 Matte WUXGA or WSXGA+ screen. Anybody know where to get one? LED would be even better... if that's possible, but that's asking a lot...

Next is the processor. What would you recommend? I'd like a fast one that's relatively low-wattage to keep up my battery life. Like a P-series.

And then a battery. I'd like a 9-cell to boost the battery life, but I'm not sure where to get one. Can I find it on ebay? :p

    Thanks!

With the 45 chipset, the best dual core CPU it can take is the T9900, and the best quad core is the QX9300. Not sure about memory, but even if it can take more than 8GB, it's not financially worth it anyway.

An X9100 is also compatible. And looky, I have one for sale.

As for RAM, frog-avatar-guy has it right. You're really not going to need more than 4GB. Also, I'm not sure if the G50vt series can support more than 4GB, chipset compatibility or not. Look around some of the G50vt threads in the Asus board.

get a P9000 series one... the X9100 will work but its not worth it as you'll need to mod a lot and undervolt to get proper temperature...
