I hope there is not a thread about this already. If there is I apologies. So here it goes. I bought the ASUS G71V-7S057C in 2009 and now I want to know if it is possible to upgrade the CPU and GPU of this rig.

    Intel Core 2 Duo - P8600 at 2,4 GHz
    Bus de données 1066 MHz
    Cache L2 6 Mo
    Chip set Intel PM45
Plateform Intel Montevina - Centrino 2

    Dedicated GPU memory
    GDDR3
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT
    Dedicated memory - 512 Mo
    Shared Memory - 512 Mo

Please let me know if you need anymore info.

    Thanks in advanced.

The G71V officially supports following CPUs: (specs from ASUS website)
    Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T9600/T9400/P8600/P8400 : 2.53 GHz - 2.0 GHz 1066MHz, 6/3MB On-Die L2 Cache.
It should be possible to put a T9900 in it, as I have one in an ASUS G71Gx.
There was also a model which supported the QX9300, but your buildin motherboard must support it.
