Ok before you all try to cut my head off for saying the dreaded word "Upgrade graphics" in a laptop, the Dell I8600 was made so it could upgrade its Graphics plus i have found a site that shows in detail (pictures and all) on how to upgrade the graphics, so no cutting my head off please. Ok i have a Dell Inspiron 8600 and i was wanting to upgrade the CPU and the Graphics on it because i have found that it works pretty decent on playing a few of my games so i wanted to see if i can push this laptop for all its worth and see if i can get this laptop running better then my moms desktop! So do you guys/galls have any advice on what products i should get that would make this outdated laptop a little less outdated so i can play my games better (Before you ask no im not playing WoW... Im playing SWG xD but i've been playing it since i was 14 and im 18 now so ha! and still in shape! MARINE CORPS!)

    you can upgrade to:
    Pentium M755 @ 2Ghz
    Pentium M765 @ 2.1Ghz.

Only problem is that those CPUs are rare. Try ebay.

The top-end graphics upgrades for these fetch premium prices too, and that includes Ebay. Enough that you could drop $100-200 for it. Not sure you'd want to drop that coin when you could save towards a new unit.

I have the inspiron 8500, which I am almost 100% sure uses the same graphics modules as the inspiron 8600.
If I am right, than the nVidia Gefore 4200 is the best card for your system

save your money and buy something newer (even second hand) when you can afford it.

I would recommand the Dell Precision M70. It comes with the nVidia GeForce Go FX1400/ 6800. It is a good graphics card with 256 MB. It deliveres (if I'm not wrong) the same power as the Go 9200/9300
