    Upgrading Core Duo to Core 2 Duo in FSC Pi1536 ?

    Hi,

    The question is: can I upgrade Core Duo processor to Core 2 Duo in Amilo Pi1536 ?

    I know there is 1556 with only difference being the processor hence my question...

    My Amilo has T2250 1,73GHz FSB 533 MHz ... :confused: :confused:

    Yes, you can upgrade the processer. However, you may need a BIOS upgrade. I have linked the Fujitsu Siemens page below, where this is available.

    If you check the box, and then select the opertaing system, then click "GO" at the bottom. It will direct you to the download page. From there, you can select which BIOS you want to download. You should downlad the latest version, which is 1.19. I suggest you download the file, which enables you to flash from within Windows, as that is the easiest. You must update the BIOS before you upgrade the processer itself.

    You should also be aware, that if you upgrade the processer, the warranty will be voided. Also, when performing the BIOS update, if it performed incorrectly, then it can render the whole computer useless. If you follow the intructions on the page, then nothing bad should happen.
