Can I upgrade the video card in my HP dv9500t laptop? It comes with nvidia8600GS but I would like 8700, 7950, or 8800GTX if at all possible.

Sure, but you won't be one those people... ever. No details needed.

Oh and I heard about people being kidnapped by aliens. No details was given.

Sorry man, it's not going to happen.

Highly unlikely, as the 8400M GS and 8600M GS models don't even use the same system board.

How about the ASUS G1S. Can the GPU be upgraded?

It's replaceable but that doesn't make it upgradeable... 8600M GT is the highest option for a regular 15.4 notebook.

    1. So other than ASUS C90S which has desktop components, what other laptop has upgradeable GPU?

There has to be a thread that says NO MXM, no upgrade. Somebody make it; you'll get tons of reps! xD Only non MXM case I've heard was someone giving his e1705 a 7900GS --> 7950GTX this one time. It was a member of this forum.

Oh lol, I remember that thread now. Before I posted I went to see if there was a GPU guide, and it wasn't there! xD It was in a silly little table of contents. :p

btw. I really enjoyed that guide when I was a newb Dreamer. :D I was the opposite. I thought NOTHING could be upgraded.
