I purchased an HP DV6-T which has
    1) 3rd Generation Core i7 Quad
    2) 8GB RAM
    3) 1TB HDD and
    4) nVidia GTX 630M GPU

Is it possible to upgrade its display to 1920 X 1080? Right now its display is 768P

HP offers the dv6t with a 1080p display; it should be a matter of finding that panel and swapping it in. The swap isn't easy however, it never is with notebooks. My opinion - better off selling that notebook and buying a new one with the 1080p display.

Agreed with Charles. Changing the display yourself aftermarket is not only pretty difficult, but will certainly void any warranties you have on the laptop. Save yourself the headache and return the laptop to HP (assuming you've recently purchased the 768p version) and buy the laptop with the same specs, but with the 1080p display instead.

I disagree with both of you. While its worthwhile to return the laptop and not void the warranty, a laptop out of warranty is certainly not too difficult to upgrade the screen on, it can be easier than upgrading the RAM sometimes.

I highly doubt that laptop is old enough to not have a warranty. Having swapped a few screens out I can say it is certainly possible but a bit difficult for the average user. Chances of damaging the laptop are high if you don't know what you are doing.

I think it need new cable to do 1080p, the old cable for 6xxx may work, but better check in owner lounge etc.

Difficulty , on the dv6 it is about the same compare to a repaste.

No one will know if you keep your old screen and swap it back
