After doing some research I found out that my Toshiba Satellite C855-S5233 motherboard has a G2 socket with an intel celeron C B820 processor, so with that being said, can I replace the intel celeron cpu with an intel icore 3,5, or7 cpu? Newegg has a review by a customer who bought this same Toshiba Satellite C855-S5233 laptop that came with an intel celeron C B820 processor and he upgraded the celeron C B820 processor to an Core i5M processor. He states in his review that any 35W Core i5M processor will work with this motherboard. So would a socket G2 Core i7 processor work also or just an Core i5M processor? Thank you for your help, Jaime

    Socket G2 (rPGA988B)

There's a list on that page of CPUs compatible with Socket G2. Note that there may be incompatibilities between your BIOS and some of those processors. Since your Celeron is a Sandy Bridge processor, you may not be able to use Ivy Bridge (i3/i5/i7-3xxx) processors in the machine. Also, be aware that a faster processor will likely give off more heat, and your laptop's cooling system might not be able to cope with the heat of, say, an i7 quad-core processor even if it works in the laptop. Just food for thought.

All standard power dual core Sandy Bridge processors are 35W, so your laptop's cooling should suffice. Stick with the dual core second gen Core i processors, i.e. core i7 2xxxM and you should be fine.

Ebay is a pretty good source for CPUs. Judging from prices though I'd say core i5 would be best bang for buck.
