Hi, i am considering buying a dv5t but hp no longer sells this laptop online with the 9600m Gt card as an option. I looked online and on ebay there are many with the card, but they all have the wxga screen and i want the wsxga, higher resolution, screen. If i bought the laptop with the wxga screen and then bought the wsxga screen separate, would the wsxga screen be compatible with the original laptop or would i have to buy separate parts to install the wsxga lcd? Also, if this replacement would work, does anyone know the model number of the wsxga screen? I've contacted Hp but they haven't replied yet.

If you were to disassemble the whole display, you should be able to replace the screen without a problem. All of the connectors should be the same, as well as the shape. But thats not necessarily an easy thing to do. ;)

You want mine, haha? I had no idea that hp doesn't offer the dv5t without the 9600 anymore. Thats the only reason i bought it so I could get the high resolution screen with a graphics card that could satisfy my TF2 addiction.
