    Hi Folks,

I'm thinking of upgrading the LCD on my Inspiron 5100 from XGA to SXGA+

Am I going to have to replace the inverter as well, or will the existing one work?

Any pitfalls I might not be aware of?

    Thanks!

    m.

You should not have to replace the inverter. Take a look at the Inspiron 5100 service manual if you haven't already. And you know, take the normal precautions: take out the battery, ground and discharge yourself, etc. Should be a pretty straightforward swap.
