I have a VAIO FZ290 and it has 2 GB of 600MHz RAM and a T7250 processor. Can I buy a T9300 and get someone to upgrade it or is the processor melted on. Will this give me any forseeable problems?
Also can my RAM be upgraded to 800MHz...can I support this?

Laptop will not support higher than 667 memory. You can upgrade the CPU though, it's not soldered to the board.

sesshomaru Suspended Disbelief!
You can drop in a 800MHz DDR2 module. This would downclock to 667MHz, but you do get the advantage of running it at lower latencies. It isn't worth the price, though.. As fir the processor, any T series processor would be a drop in replacement, except for the T7200,7400 etc..(even numbered ones)..

the t7200, t7400 and t7600 are 1st generation meron processors

Buy a T9300, swap the CPUs, get PC2-6400 ram, and UP the FSB by 33MHz - to get the ram working at 800MHz --

Or the T8300 if price is good with OC beat T9300 stock.
Upgrading Laptop from T7250 to T9300 and RAM from 600MHz to 800MHz?
