I looked everywhere to see if this upgrade was even possible and I could never find a definitive answer. Then I saw that the Y580 came out and was available with a 1080p FHD display. I found a replacement screen for the Y580 on laptopscreen.com and decided I'd gamble the $85 to see if it would work. First off, I'd like to say that laptopscreen.com has extremely fast shipping and amazing prices. I received the exact part I ordered in 3 days and in great condition far cheaper than anyone else had it available for (no I don't work for them). As soon as I got the replacement screen I spent two hours swapping them out. Fired up the laptop and it worked perfectly the first time. I tried to get a picture including the resolution setting and the laptop model number as my proof. Below is the best I could do. If you can see through the glare my screen settings are at 1920 X 1080, and the laptop model at the bottom left is Y560P. A laptop that was never available with a FHD display. Here is a link to the part I ordered.

I am so happy to have read this! Thanks for sharing! I love this laptop, but I have been going crazy with this annoyingly low resolution. Already ordered the part.
