Today I will be picking up a black core duo macbook. The first thing I would like to do, is upgrade the hard drive to 200GB. Is this possible and where can I get my hands on one?
BTW, with tempertures reaching 160 degrees farenheit, would it be safe leaving the laptop on all night downloading torrents?

No reason why its not, though 200gb 5400 is scarce still. Perhaps a cooler would be wise to keep temperatures down.

Thanks coriolis, but that doesn't answer my first question. Where can I find/ what would be the right hard drive to install on my macbook.

Any SATA 2.5" laptop drive will work and fit. Why not get something external that is much larger, like a 750gb seagate drive, and use that for torrents?
Also, 71C is pretty darn hot for just sitting around. My IBM T60 with a 2.16 C2D pegs under load at 65-70C, and sits around 44C. Getting a much larger drive is going to add to some of that heat and possibly cause other problems. -
Oh no, the maximum I ever seen it on at heavy load is 70C usualy it's around 40-45. -
You probably don't want the 200GB internal drive, as sold by Apple since it's a 4200RPM unit and quite slow. I second DCFiend's suggestion on getting a 3.5" external enclosure for all your downloads. Cheaper and faster.
Upgrading MacBook to 200GB hard drive.
