I'm looking into upgrading from 4 GB to 8 GB RAM, so I'm wondering whether anyone has any feedback on memory from G.Skill or Mushkin. I've found 8 GB from both companies at Newegg with identical specs and nearly identical prices.

    Over-clocking is unlikely, at best.

    G.Skill vs. Mushkin

Thanks for any suggestions you can offer!

I personally prefer G. Skill. I've upgraded many systems using G. Skill memory.

Rarely do I run into issues with it.

I've got G. Skill as well. I picked the least expensive and haven't had a single issue under normal use thus far. Still, I have to admit, I haven't pushed it anywhere near the limit yet.

I use Mushkin and also have no issue. Both are in my experience good brands so I concur, just pick whichever is cheaper. :D

    Why CAS 9 -- wouldn't CAS 7 be better?

Better on paper yes, but there will be no difference in real life performance. Literally none. Not a minuscule difference, no difference at all.

3DMark Vantage would probably show some difference if you are on integrated graphics! But yeah, I agree with you.
