I was wondering if I would be able to run my Kingston 1GB DDR2 533mhz ram on it? If so, then I would just swap the sticks so I dont have to fork out more $ for more ram.

Also, the optical drive would be only CDRW/DVD, would my DVDRW from my Vaio work in the MacBook? Or do I have to get an apple super drive.

An optical drive designed for a Sony Vaio will NOT fit in a macbook. You'll need to go to an apple store, check out apple.com or check ebay for a macbook optical drive. You might also consider getting an external optical drive which are considerably cheaper than internal notebook ones as they are system specific.

This is the RAM for your laptop:

    1GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SODIMM Memory
