The Ram is notebook RAM and the CL4 is the lowest I have seen for PC5300.

HDD look up what you have then I could tell you.

And the parts look very nice.

I am 90% certain that HDD will work, but my knowledge of HDD is less than RAM and CPU's. I could research and find out but someone will post back faster. You can upgrade no doubt but let someone who knows more about your machine answer. If no one does I will be back just take me awhile.

That GSkill RAM appears to be very good. The label clearly shows PC5300 and CL4. However, this leaves me with some doubt. If it is CL4 @ 667MHz then the PC rating should be higher than 5300. PC5300 RAM normally has those timings when run at 533MHz. A little research took me to this pair of 2GB GSkill modules. The specs clearly say CL5, but look at the full image. Very similar labelling tothe RAM at Newegg (except for being 2GB sticks).

Provided the m9750 uses the SATA HDD interface then that Hitachi HDD will work fine. However, you might find the HDD for less money. See this thread.

Hi John, Thats a pretty good price in the UK for 2 x 2GB sticks and I see what you mean about the label on the actual ram. Have you seen CL4 kits in the UK?

Just noticed the Man Fr Code contains CL5, but on it egg its CL4

You can do even better by getting two of these Transcend 2GB. For some reason they don't show up on MemoryC's listings, but they sell them and I originally found it by Googling for the part number. I bought one in April and had a second one delivered today.

My theory is that GSkill have done some misleading labelling. Sure they are CL4, but at 553MHz and would be CL3 if you can run it at 400MHz. Newegg read the label, not the detailed specs. That's my theory until someone posts a CPU-Z memory page for that RAM showing it to be CL4 @ 667MHz. So far, the PC6400 RAM I have seen results for is still CL5 at 667MHz.

Thanks, John tried all the usual haunts :). I have a 7200.1 but hear people raving about how much faster the 7k200 is over the 7200.1 & the 7k100...
