Hey! So I have an Acer Aspire 7741G-6426 which came with 2x2GB RAM (1066MHz), and I was thinking about upgrading to maybe 6GB. Now my questions:
1) Is it worth it to upgrade to 6? Or should I upgrade to 8GB? (I do game in this laptop, just so you know)
2) About the frequency, how can I know if my laptop is compatible with 1333MHz? Would it work at that speed or at 1066MHz?
In case this is needed:
Intel Core i5-480M 2.66GHz
4GB DDR3 1066MHz
AMD Radeon 6550M
Sorry, very basic questions but I have no one else to ask, so!
And I apologize in advance for my english!
Thanks.![]()

1) It's depend on you, but IMO, 8GB(2x4GB) so cheap nao, so 8GB is my choice.
2) It;s just work at 1066. It's chipset limitation. some 1600MHz ram will not compatible. -
See Assymetrical dual channel mode Vs symetrical dual channel mode
2) All i series Intel mobile CPU's now contained an onboard memory controller. To determine what memory your laptop supports you need to check the exact processor model's specification, which is currently installed in your laptop.
See DDR3 laptop memory supported by Intel i5 series mobile processors -
Thank you both!
Then I'll think I'll go with 8GB! And my model (480M) is not in the link you gave me, LaptopUser, but I looked in Intel's website (I don't know why it didn't ocurr to me before), and it says "Memory Types - DDR3-800/1066". So trieudoahong was right.
Again, thank you so much for the help.
