Hi All,
I am looking into purchasing additional memory for my HP ProBook 4530s with Windows 7 64-bit.
I currently have 4GB RAM in my notebook from the factory. I used the Memory guide on the Kingston site and it came up with unit: KTH-X3BS/4G. There was a note on the page saying: "MODULES MUST BE ORDERED AND INSTALLED IN PAIRS for Dual Channel mode. "
Will the KTH-X3BS/4G unit work in dual channel mode just fine next to my factory installed 4GB unit? (My ProBook 4530s has two RAM slots)
Also, I sometimes shop on Newegg and so I decided to try their Memory lookup tool for my specific notebook, KTH-X3BS/4G did not come up in their results. See here:
http://promotions.newegg.com/nepro/14-2242/index.html?name=Memory-Finder#GyACtLM0L000ABD
The Kingston units that came up were:
M51264J90S
KVR13S9S8/4R
KVR13S9S8/4
KVR16S11S8/4
Why the inconsistency, are the 4, 4GB units on Newegg are perfectly compatible with my model?
I only used Kingston's site because they had a nice memory lookup tool and it would give me a quick answer as to what type of memory my notebook uses and an approximate price so I know roughly how much $ i'll be dropping on the upgrade.
Are there other brands I should look at instead?
I would like the dual channel capabilities to work properly so I want to choose one that will be compatible working alongside my existing factory 4GB unit.
Thanks in advance for any help![]()

find out the memory model installed in the laptop, get the same spec one and install.
