    Hi Everyone,
    I have an Intel® Core™ i3-350M Processor (3M Cache, 2.26 GHz) with a Mobile Intel® HM55 Express Chipset
(Intel® BD82HM55 PCH) on board...I actually have 2GB DDR3 1066MHz on one slot...i have two slots in all
I want to upgrade it to 8GB ..is it possible to replace it with tow 4GB DDR3 1066MHz?
    I am actually using windows 7 (64-bit)
I read somewhere that the chipset limits the maximum amount of RAM ...will i be able to upgrade it to 8GB?

Ram upgrades are usually limited by what the manufacturer has set in your BIOS. What make/model is your laptop?

@tilleroftheearth but there is always a chance for personal incompatibility ;) I once put 2x8 1600 RAM to arrandale I5 and they did not work :(

SO if you do not want to spend a lot of money then just buy 2 sticks 1333 RAM. they will work fine on lower 1066 speed.

    James D,

Good points. Just wanted to show that almost any DDR3 Sodimm (2x 4GB) RAM modules will work.

The best ones to buy are the highest rated (in MHz) at the lowest price that actually work on your system (of course).
