    Hi all,

I have an Asus Z91A with 915GM motherboard, I checked Intel's site and it seems this motherboard only supports 2GB max (2x1GB).

What I'm wondering is that is it really due to technical limitation so the board only accepts 1GB stick? or was it because back then there were no 2GB stick on the market yet? I can save a bit of money if I buy 1x2GB instead of 2x1GB, or maybe even go for 4GB.

anyone tried to go beyond the maximum capacity before? thanks in advance.

It does work sometimes but rarely. I'd see if you can borrow a 2GB sodimm from someone and try it out first before buying.

    Or just google it.
Check what people have to say about the max memory on your laptop.

    I have a dell d420 with 512mb built in and I added a 2gb stick.
The bios knows that I have 2.5GB but the system can only use 2GB's of it.
