Hi, first of all i dont feel so well to browse around right now
so ill just post the issue, i apologyze if its been discussed before.
I have a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527
i was reading the official user guide and it says that it has
1gb of ram.. PC4200 DDR2, it has 2 memory bays etc etc.
SO HERES THE THING!
the guide dosent mention anything on the 533mhz bus..it dosent say if it can handle a higher bus or something..
so here we go.. im wondering if i could :
Keep my current PC4200 ram and add another 1gb PC5200..since it only supports 2gb
OR
if i could take out the PC4200 and add 2x 1gb PC5200
anyways...the thing is...does it handle PC5200 memorys ? has anyone done it before...on THIS model..or...can i mix the speeds and keep my system stable and working at full performance.
Usually i deal with my clients computers but when it comes to my own...i get scared =P
thanks in hand!
Cheers!

The processor that you have supports a 533MHz bus, so if you put in two 533MHz chips it will run at 533MHz. Any DDR2 chips that are faster will work, but AT 533MHz speeds.
HOWEVER, from what I can see you have the 945PM chipset (use CPU-Z to verify).
If that is true, you can buy 2 2GB sticks and have CLOSE to 3.2GBs of RAM available. -
Dark Wolf, the memory you can use is PC4200 at 533Mhz, or PC5300 which runs at 667MHz.
If you install the Pc5300 in your laptop, the memory will automatically downclock to Pc4200 speeds.
What greg mentions about the memory is usually the case, but their are laptops out their with the i945pm chipset like my E1505 which only support 2GB of memory. The limitation is a Bios limitation, so if you install a single 2gb module, the system will not power on.
If your manual says that it can handle 2gb, you may just want to upgrade to 2gb of memory.
Your system will work with a Pc4200 and a PC5300 card running at the same time.

Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 --> 943GML --> 2GB PC2-4200 is the limit.
(Will accept PC2-5300 physically, but will downclock to PC2-4200) -
Great!!
omg..thank you Greg, K-Tron and Andy !! ...now i see my issue has a way out...wich ill solve as soon as possible.
again thanks a lot for the fast help !
Cheers!
