OK, I'm a newbie at this. Been running desktops for years but never played with laptops. Just bought a Toshiba, like the title say and would like some pointers on what I should buy to upgrade the RAM and the HD. What kind of specs should I look for both the RAM and HD. I know it use DDR2 SDRAM but I'm not sure that any DDR2 SDRAM would fit. Same for HD, it now has a 80GB 5400RPM SATA drive but can I just buy any 250GB 2.5in SATA and I'm in business?

Also if I could , I would get rid of Vista and install XP pro instead. Does anyone who did it can provide some sort of a tutorial of the procedures because I think, from what I've read, that it's not a simple swap.

    Use DDR2 667mhz aka pc-5300 aka pc-5400 ram.
the "pc" part could also have a 2 after it.(ie pc2-5300)
