I have a 2007 Toshiba Satellite A135-S4666 with a 16:10 WXGA screen, and was trying to put in a WSXGA one. However, for some reason it simply doesn't work.

Using an external monitor, Windows does identify the new screen correctly as WSXGA but doesn't output any display to it. I tried using the exact steps in this thread ( Installing a QXGA display in a R/T60 or 61 - ThinkWiki) but there were some problems along the way.

I tried updating EDID using PowerStrip but for some reason it doesn't allow me that option. Of course, I downloaded the latest PowerStrip version. And since I've no idea to design a custom EDID using a EDID creator, that didn't help as well.

Could anyone figure out a flaw in my methodology, or give me another lead?

Could anyone direct me to somewhere I could look on how to create my own custom EDID data?
